maybe not nothing.
but lost, yes.
we can go our entire lives searching for something that will give us purpose.
whether it's a title,
a job,
a person,
a house,
a car,
etc,
those things will never be enough.
2 corinthians 5:5 says,
"now it is God who has made us for this very purpose, and has given us the spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what's to come."
there is a god-shaped hole inside of all of our hearts that we long to fill.
we try to fit other puzzle pieces in there,
desperately wanting them to fit.
but nothing will ever complete our puzzle the way that He does.
C.S. Lewis quoted,
"if man's hunger proves he inhabits a world where food exists,
my desire for paradise is a good indication it exists."
i think that is perfect.
